This is my first blog
This is my very first blog and I approach it with both a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Excited because there is so much I would like to write about. Nervous because – well, it is all new for me and I don’t know who I am writing to, if anyone will read it or if anyone will find it interesting enough to keep reading it. But I have just come across a book I bought and began to read a few years ago – a book called The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz. For some reason I never got past the first few pages back then but timing is everything so I have heard – I am now about to begin the sixth chapter.
The book is about positive thinking – groan, groan I can hear. But I have to say, I really do believe in it. I used to live in Spain some years ago and became acquainted with a man from Chile who introduced me to this subject. It wasn’t long before I was reading all manner of literature on it and, more importantly, putting it into practice. It worked! It really did! I won’t go into the endless examples of how my life changed – because, sadly, it didn’t last very long. It is hard work being positive all the time and I soon
fell into old habits of thinking – oh no, it’s Monday, oh no, it’s raining again, oh no, I’ve got another meeting with so-and-so – much easier to think in such a way it would seem.
I fully intend to finish the book this time around (you are most welcome to ask me if I do so in the Comments section) because I am at the start of a new phase in my life and I want to Think Big. Things that I always wanted to do are now happening, things that I wanted to learn are now being learnt. I feel energized. I feel I have already grown in emotional and mental stature. I feel like I am already a best-selling author. I have stopped myself here from writing anything negative and self-deprecating as I would normally do. I am Thinking Big. Apparently the great philosopher Disraeli said: “Life is too short to be little.” What a lovely thought.

„Life is too short to be little“ is a great statement …
To chance your perspective, you have to leave the opposite behind. The question is: Are you ready?
Thanks for the comment Elif. I think I am…
Great to see this site up and running.
An outlet for your talent.
Thanks Roga. It was about time.
Whatever makes you feel like “you”, does worth the time invested I guess 🙂
I quite agree – thanks for your thoughts.
Hats off to you. I think it’s great that you are doing what you are doing. Carry on doing what you are doing, I find it inspirational.
Lovely words to inspire me too – thanks Jacky.
